Background
Nona's love for adventure and travel began at the age of five when her family sailed into New York harbor on a ship coming from South Hampton, England. Graduating from Rollins College in Central Florida with a degree in Foreign Languages/Political Science, Nona was well on her way to starting her own travel business.
How Nona got started
To become fluent in Spanish, Nona entered an exchange student program during college, living in Colombia, South America. There she further discovered her enthusiasm for foreign cultures and traditions. That still holds true today. Over the last 30 years Nona has traveled to every continent and taken groups along with her. Tours by Nona is a family owned and operated company that encompasses her years of experience in the industry as well as her passion for sharing the opportunity for others to see the world.

Winter Park Boat Ride & Morse Museum

Come along with Tours by Nonafor a delightful outing as we travel to nearby Winter Park, a community of beautiful homes, picturesque lakes, and the home of Rollins College. Also, known for its renowned Park Avenue, a popular shopping district with a varied selection of upscale boutiques, galleries and restaurants. Our day will begin with one of the oldest attractions in Central Florida, the Scenic Boat Tour of Winter Park. Our 1/12 hour narrated cruise takes us past many of the opulent lakeside estates and landmarks. Following lunch (on own), we will go to another of the town’s highlights, the Morse Museum of Art. The museum contains a comprehensive collection of the works by Louis Comfort Tiffany, a celebrated designer of the late 19th century. Many of the stained-glass windows on exhibit were installed in Tiffany’s mansion on Long Island. A highlight is the chapel Tiffany designed for the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Enjoy a lovely day out to discover some of the finery that is found in the “Sunshine State”.

We’ll begin our adventure as we are transferred to the Amtrak Train Station in Winter Park. We’ll have time to stroll on Park Avenue and have lunch (on own) before boarding our train bound for Savannah. Upon arrival our motor coach will be waiting to take us to our accommodations in the heart of the Historic District. After breakfast the next morning we’ll enjoy a narrated trolley tour of this fascinating city. We’ll see where “FORREST GUMP” was filmed, and “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” took place.
